There’s something so timeless and romantic about spring in Northern Michigan—especially when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. For Gabby and Trenton’s maternity session in Traverse City, we were lucky enough to catch the blossoms at their peak, literally moments after the rain cleared, and just in time to celebrate 37 beautiful weeks of pregnancy.
This Traverse City maternity session felt like a dream from start to finish. Gabby and Trenton were not only a joy to photograph, but they brought so much love and connection to every image. The cherry blossom orchard, an iconic spot and symbol of spring in Northern Michigan, made the perfect backdrop to honor this incredibly special season of life.
What made this session even more meaningful was the location. We photographed in the very place where Trenton grew up, which added a personal and nostalgic layer to the session. As if that wasn’t special enough, Trenton brought along his grandfather’s vintage car—a true classic that he lovingly restored. It was the perfect touch of history and heart, and it felt like a beautiful bridge between generations as these two prepare to welcome their baby girl.
Maternity photography is always a privilege, but sessions like this filled with meaning, history, and love—are especially powerful. Capturing this milestone for Gabby and Trenton beneath the Traverse City cherry blossoms was truly stunning.
I can’t wait to continue telling their story when we document the arrival of their daughter soon. In the meantime, I’m so excited to share a peek into their cherry blossom maternity session.

Whether you're a Traverse City local or visiting Northern Michigan in the spring, cherry blossom season is the perfect time for a maternity photo session. The soft petals, dreamy light, and seasonal magic create an unforgettable setting to celebrate new beginnings.
